Hi everyone, My name is Edward. And I have been traveling for three years now, though it was not a full time traveling I have been to fifteen countries. Juggling between work and leisure, I managed to have a quick escape between the stressful professional world. Fifteen countries are not even a fraction of the world’s total and yes I still have a lot of things to do. Here is my bucket list of ideas I want to accomplish.

To see the northern lights with my own eyes.

This thing has been in my bucket list ever since. I wanted to witness the wonder of nature and marvel at the Aurora Borealis with my own eyes. I have the opportunity to tick off this one last year but I prefer not to. For me, it is better to see the northern lights with your other half. Sharing the magical sight under the same sky with a partner by your side adds to the experience. Hopefully, I can accomplish this soon.

Bucket list ideas

Taste bugs, scorpions, frogs, and other exotic food.

I love adventure. And when it comes to food I am not that picky. I can eat anything. Taking a food tour around Southeast Asia and the Indian subcontinent is a must-do activity for me. I haven’t tried anything unusual so I am looking forward to doing a food walking tour and trying all the delicacies available.

Speak Spanish fluently and be able to use it in my future travels preferably in Latin America.

As you know, the Philippines was a Spanish colony before. We retained some of the Spanish words and used them in our language. That was the reason I am fond of learning Spanish. So it would be cool if I would learn this language and speak fluently. It will be able to help me a lot in my travels.

Learn how to swim so that I can enjoy the beaches of Southeast Asia

I know that my childhood is not that great. I don’t know how to swim or ride a bicycle but I am in the process of learning to do these activities to fully enjoy the world-class beaches in SE Asia.

Stay in an igloo

As someone born and raised in the Philippines, I am used to the tropical weather we have. I only experienced winter when I worked in the middle east. And yes, I prefer summer over winter. I prefer snow over the summer sun. This gave me the idea to stay in an igloo.

Spend New year’s Eve at Times Square New York city

I experienced spending the new year in the Philippines, Kuwait, and Germany. Though my most memorable one was that of Germany where I spent the new year alone. So I came up with the bucket list idea to have New year’s eve in New York City. Of course, what better city can do the new year’s countdown than New York?

Full-time backpacking for three months or six months.

I have had this item for a long time. My itinerary is ready for Southeast Asia. No specific plans but I know which country to go first. I was supposed to do this by October 2020,  but due to obvious reasons, I have to move it to a later date. I believe doing this trip will be a life-changing one.

Learn how to horse ride and see the vast land of Mongolia.

And yes, aside from riding a bicycle, I wanted to learn horse-back riding. I saw this vlog of a Polish YouTuber Eva Zu Beck and I admire her for her bravery doing a solo horse-back riding in Mongolia. If a lady can do it, why can’t I. Right?

Hop on a vintage car in Cuba

If you will check my laptop’s wallpaper, you would see that it was a photo of Havana. Traveling to Cuba seems like traveling back in time for me. Everything was stuck in a certain period of the past. If I will fulfill this trip, I guess I would be one of the happiest travelers. Oh, of course, I need to go back to number three in my bucket list.

Travel to a hundred countries

If most of the travelers dreamt to travel to every country. In my case, I will be glad If I can just finish a hundred. I still believe in the quality of the trip over quantity. Where you will truly immerse yourself with the culture and tradition of the country. Mingle with the locals and make a life-changing trip.

This list can extend to a hundred more items. But these are my major things to do. Do we share the same bucket list ideas? Let me know down below.
